America Leading The World Into Spiritual Adultery.
By Andy Neckar

The prostitution of the Christian Church is in full swing. The tentacles of the pendulum is swinging outward and gathering more Christian churches as it returns to it's former position of apostasy in the rejection of God's Word.

The starting point of this present apostasy is centered in the so-called Christian Institutions. It is the Bible Seminaries that train up the new preachers in the way Satan wants them to go. And these institutions are supported by the cash of people who believe the Bible.

[The following is excerpted from the March-April issue of Foundation, a bimonthly publication of Fundamental Evangelistic Association. PO Box 6278, Los Osos, CA 93412 and is in turn taken from an address delivered at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, August 17, 1919 by A. C. Gaebelein titled "The Apostasy Sweeping Over The Churches"]

Let me take you on a trip. We will start in Boston as the hub, the city I know for I have been going there for a month during the winter for at least twenty years: the city which used to be famous for its men who preached the gospel and the Word of God. There is Boston University of the Methodist Episcopal Church-one of the rankest hot-bed of the rejection of the Word of God. Harvard is another institution where the Bible is absolutely rejected and put upon the same level with other good literature. Then there is Newton Theological Seminary of the Baptist Church equally teaching error. Go down to Providence and you will find the same story in its universities and colleges--the professors teaching that the book of Genesis is myth., and that evolution is still the thing which explains the existence of this universe. Then go to New York City and you will find Union Theological Seminary of the Presbyterian Church which every once in a while turns out preachers and when they are examined for entrance ino the Presbytery and ordination, say they do not know whether Jesus Christ was born of a virgin or not; and about physical resurrection, they say they have not yet made up their minds as to that.

Then go up the Hudson to Poughkeepsie. One father told me with tears in his eyes that his daughter had attended Vassar. She had gone with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and came away an infidel. Go to Chicago and there you find the worst kind of corruption in the Chicago University. Oh, the pernicious literature which is sent out from there! I wish I had kept track of the stacks of appeals which preachers and others send me and say, "For God's sake, do something to stop it!"

Go to Garrett or Northwestern or keep coming West to the Coast up to San Francisco and all along through Canada. Institution after institution has adopted the theory of reasoning which comes out of their teaching that there cannot be an infallible Word of God, and these institutions are responsible for the men who stand up in pulpits today and deny the Christian faith.

Now, let me give you the vilest attempt which has been made upon the Word of God during the last year. It is "The Shorter Bible," by Charles Foster Kent, of Yale. Methodist preachers today, before their ordination, are forced to read the books of Charles Foster Kent-books of infidelity.

I have gone over this New Testament, endorsed by many great men, newspapers, etc., and it seems the whole world endorses it. As I read the endorsements, I found that "It is a thrilling account of the life of Jesus and His great social and economic teachings," and as I went on, I found that everything about the blood, redemption, the cross, salvation, eternal life had been cut out. It is just a little bit of a book-you can slip it into your vest pocket; but friends, this is something more blasphemous than anything Jehoiakim ever did when he cut the roll of Jeremiah. They have cut out the heart of Christianity, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Cross of Jesus Christ.

Then let me tell you to what this apostasy leads. It leads to the rejection, not of the Bible only, but of the Person who is revealed in the Bible, the Son of God. These are the tactics of the devil, first destroy the Word of God which makes Him known and then attack His Person. As a result, you have hundreds of preachers of every denomination who deny the virgin birth; who do not believe that salvation is a definite gift of grace but that it takes character and a life-time to be saved; who deny the physical resurrection; who deny future punishment; in one word, who sweep every bit of faith out of every page. That is one result.

The next result is that it has led to the prostitution of the church itself. That is one of the results of this war. This war has clinched the religious apostasy and the war and future conditions are going to open up into that prostitution of the professing church and the truth of God and the complete apostasy of which this Book speaks. The professing church adopts today the program of the world. They started in with that miserable lie that the world can be made safe for democracy, then the lifting up of humanity, and making the world better, and then having a religious brotherhood.

As you can see, great men of God with Biblical discernment was warning about the present apostasy long before I came on the scene. They warned about it because at the time it was beginning. Today it is in "full swing". I am a newcomer and not worthy to place myself in status with these faithful messengers of Christ.

Consider a more recent report on the Bible Institutes, Seminaries and Universities of today.

John Ashbrook in his book, "New Neutralism II" has this to say of the institutions today. (1992) These are excerpts from Chapter 12 of the book. Moody Bible Institute and BIOLA University are two examples conferred.

"Billy Graham agrees that no one preacher is likely to take his place. 'The leadership of evangelicalism is no longer in the hands of individuals,' he says. 'It is in the hands of institutions.' As Graham sees it, the institutions that will shape the future of evangelicalism include seminaries such as Fuller Theological in Pasadena, California, Southwestern Baptist in Houston, Texas and Gordon Conwell in South Hamilton, Mass. They also embrace such evangelical colleges as Calvin in Grand Rapids, Mich,, Westmont in Santa Barbara, Calif, and Graham's own alma mater, Wheaton, in Illinois. In addition, there are the parachurch agencies such as Campus Crusade for Christ, Youth for Christ and the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, as well as the hundreds of TV and radio ministries that make up what is known as 'the electronic church'.

The colleges with which I was familiar as a young man were started by fundamentalists - Wheaton College, Bryan College, Bob Jones University, Tennessee Temple College, Grace College, Kings College, Moody Bible Institute, and the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. The tragedy of this hour in history is that almost all of the schools started by fundamentalists have been seduced by the new neutralism. Of the schools which I have given above, only Bob Jones University retains fundamentalist moorings.

Moody Bible Institute
My father had an excellent education at Westminster College and Pittsburgh Xenia Seminary He followed that with graduate work at New College, Edinburgh and Oxford University. In his day (1920) those schools had a name for being true to the Bible. Actually, all of them were tinged with incipient modernism which robbed them of the clarity of the gospel. He used to say to me that he would trade his ten years of higher education for one good year at Moody Bible Institute. That was the reputation which Moody had earned in American fundamentalism, As a boy I thought that every good missionary came from Moody

Alas, there is a different Moody today. No declaration was ever made saying, 'We have left fundamentalism and are now in the new evangelical camp.' By a quiet progression, the change was made. I recall hearing a former Moody president declare that the school would not support the Graham Crusade in Chicago because of its ecumenism, However, at its 100th anniversary celebration in 1986, Billy Graham was the featured speaker. The favor was returned the following July when Moody's president, Dr. George Sweeting, gave a major address at Graham's Amsterdam '86.

Some of the speakers at Moody's Founder's Week Conferences are named by Ashbrook as "Dr. Charles Swindoll, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Warrten Wiersbe (a former pastor of Moody Church), Dr. S.M. Lockridge, Dr. Jerry Falwell, Dr. Luis Palau, Dr. E. V Hill, Dr Bill Hybels and Charles Colson have appeared. Southern Baptists like Charles Stanley and W.A. Criswell have been there. Dallas Seminary professors like Dr. John Walvoord, Dr. Gene Getz and Dr. Howard Hendricks have been frequent invitees. Dr. John R.W Stott, the worldwide ecumenicist, spoke at the World Council of Churches meeting at Nairobi and at Founders Week two years later".

"The tragedy of this is that pastors who attend these conferences are encouraged to use these new evangelical speakers in their own pulpits. After all, if Moody uses them, they must be all right. New evangelicalism has not moved ahead on a doctrinal level, but it has on this associational level. It has been years since a Moody conference featured a man who had a reputation as a fundamentalist".

BIOLA University
"Schools, like children, always desire to grow bigger than they are. Bible institutes strive to be Bible colleges. Bible colleges aspire to be liberal arts colleges. Liberal arts colleges are seeking to be universities. BIOLA's name is an acrostic which testifies to the time when it was a Bible institute. It has gone through all the stages."

A Fundamentalist Beginning
"BIOLA began as a fundamentalist institution. It was founded in 1908 by Dr. T C. Horton. The Niagara Creed, which came out of one of the early fundamental Bible conferences, was its doctrinal statement. Its first dean was Dr. Reuben A. Torrey who served as one of the editors of The Fundamentals, which defended the orthodoxy of Scripture against the attacks of modernism. Many in the new evangelical culture look down on Bible institute education, but the Bible Institute of Los Angeles had a proud record in training some of the great preachers of our nation".

"An unbelievable area of toleration in a Christian institution is the acceptance of a pro-abortion attitude on the faculty. Dr. Hymers, in a letter over his signature addressed, 'To Whom It May Concern,' dated April 28, 1988, quoted a front page article from the BIOLA Chimes giving a statement from Dr. George Nishida, head of the Department of Sociology. The statement was made from the platform of the chapel during a discussion of abortion issues, It is as follows": My personal philosophy is, and always has been, pro-choice. There was a law passed in 19 73 that allows a person to make a choice. It gives the woman an ability to choose whether she wants abortion or not. It is a conscience matter - a morality matter and I go along with pro-choice.

"Hymer's goes on to quote a published interview between two students and Dr. Nishida in his office. Dr Nishida said as follows":

I have personally driven BIOLA girls to get abortions. I helped to pay for three BIOLA coeds to have abortions. They could fire me, but I don't think they will. If they fire me, they're going to have to fire a lot of other people. I will continue to help girls get abortions as long as it is legally possible to do so.

"To the best of my knowledge these sick statements had no effect on Dr. Nishida's continuing employment. One wonders what it would take to be dismissed from BIOLA. You may guess how long Dr. Nishida would have lasted under T C, Horton or R. A. Torrey"

Ashbrook goes on to write, "...would it surprise you to learn that BIOLA's 1989 Missions Conference featured a concert of the South African music group, 'Themba,' which led the crowd in chants exalting African Communist Nelson Mandela? Would you be surprised to know that the 1990 Missions Conference featured Dr. Anthony Campolo? Would it surprise you to learn that Dr. Ron Sider was a campus speaker in 1989 and spoke of setting up a BIOLA chapter of Evangelicals for Social Action?"

"'Toleration!' It is a good word in a proper setting. However, it is not a good word when applied to major components of the devil's program,"
[End of excerpts]

In the Old Testament, when the Nation Israel went a whoring after other gods she was led away into captivity. America is doing just that. America is going a whoring after other gods and is leading the other countries of the world into spiritual adultery. She is even demanding that they follow her.

But who is strong enough to take America captive you say? America is not being "taken" captive, she is "leading herself" into captivity. America-the only Nation ever founded on God given principles with the exception of Israel, is leading herself and the world into captivity to the Prince of this world. Folks-America is doing this in the guise of a great revival. She is doing this in God's Name. She is working with and for Satan, all the while thinking or claiming the work is for God. "Talk about deception". Boy!

With our adversary that powerful and that clever, how can Christians talk about binding him and stomping on him. Folks, we are not powerful enough to "rebuke" him, much less bind him and stomp him. Even Michael the Archangel, the great prince--one of the chief princes , Dan 10:13; 12:1) dared not rebuke Satan when contending with the devil over the body of Moses. (Jude 1:9)

Now-there is only one being mightier that angels, and folks-it's not us. The Bible tells us to be discerning and watchful, (1 Peter 5:8) not stupid. We can oppose Satan and withstand only by doing the things found in the following three scripture references. 1 Peter 5:8;-- 2 Timothy 2:15 and Eph 6:13. If the Word of God abideth in us, we have already overcome Satan, (1 John 2:14) but only Christ Himself can have him bound. (Rev 20:2)

Worldly Churches, Worldly Crusades, and Worldly Evangelism.

Con artist duping Georgia United Methodist ChurchesClergy-legislator urges end to denial of global warmingUnited Methodists called to 'Nation Day of Conscience'The day is being called to increase awareness of exploitive labor practices used to produce many of the goods sold in the United States.

These headings are only examples of the church news articles being reported by the churches. Folks-the majority of church news is social and environmental concerns.

These religious people are working "only" for social justice and environmental stability in this world, as if this world will be their permanent home. You know, when they die and leave this world and demand "justice" from God rather than "mercy", I believe He will grant them their demands.

We Christians know that God's justice demands eternal torment in the lake of fire for sinful man.. Those believing the gospel of Christ in faith receive God's mercy in place of His justice by means of His grace. Faith in the gospel of Christ is the conduit of this grace granted from Almighty God to the believer. Faith in Christ is sufficient because the condemnation penalty required of God's justice was paid in full by Him.

Do not misunderstand. God never did "waive" the penalty for sin. He became man, in the flesh, (God incarnate) and Himself paid the penalty He imposed upon sin, in the form of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Now, in order to be saved from the penalty of sin we must believe not "only" on God, but on Jesus Christ Whom He sent. (John 14:1; 3:16-17)

Yes folks, the churches are being duped by a con artist all right. The greatest con artist that ever was or ever will be. He's an old hand at it. He's been doing this right soon after God created Adam and Eve. He's getting better at it too. He has always been able to dupe the world except for God's remnant, but I believe God's remnant is declining in number in subsequent generations.. This miracle working angel of light will soon attempt his greatest feat. That is in duping the world into believing he is the Christ.

If you read the church news reports you probable know that the world's churches are now dictating to the world's governments. The churches, working through the United Nations and other gubernatorial bodies are demanding more and more say in administrative affairs. This movement is succeeding too. The idea of the world soon to be ruled by a One World Government is true in the extent that it will be a United One World Church governing the world. I believe this will be much worse for believers than a one world government.

John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. (KJV)

Fundamentalism is incompatible with Christianity?
(Taken from CNV News Service article of 9/28/97)"The theological core of Fundamentalism is incompatible with Christianity," argues a scathing ten-page article in Ecumenical Trends (9/97). It accused Fundamentalists of heresy for interpreting the Bible literally rather than allowing a historical-critical interpretation: "Fundamentalist literalism appears to be an alternative stance or, in traditional terms, a heretical option. . . . It appears that Fundamentalism is now branching off from Christianity to constitute still another separate religion. "The article calls on all historic, mainline Christians to "purify" themselves from the views of Fundamentalists: "The line of division no longer falls between Protestant and Catholic but cuts through the churches and lies between historical-minded Christianity and ahistorical Fundamentalism." (What in the World Volume22, Number 5)

Folks, we who believe the gospel of Christ are no longer considered Christians in ecumenical circles. Folks, Promise Keepers are working to break down denominational walls. Campus Crusade For Christ, the March for Jesus, Paul Crouch and his Trinity Broadcasting Network, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Jack Van Impe Ministries and many, many others are working towards the United One World Church of which the Roman Catholic Church will play an important part. It has to be that way. They are all "praising the pope". The churches are getting ready to lead their followers "back home to Rome" from whence they came. God's remnant though, are not the churches of the world. I believe God has some of His people in these churches, but He is calling them to separate and come out from among them.(2 Cor 6:14-17)

The noted evangelicals of today preach a watered down gospel. They preach a moralizing gospel rather then a gospel of salvation. American evangelicals are noted for the great many "decisions for Christ" brought about at the stadium sized crusades, but they reap a harvest devoid of any fruit.. Changed lives are hard to find and cities shaken with revival are nonexistent.

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (KJV)

We are told to go out and preach the gospel of salvation to all men, not a gospel of behavioral change and unity. We are told we must "take up the cross", not "take on entertainment" We are told to sing with grace in our hearts "to the Lord". in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs _Col 3:16) We are not told to "catch the ear" of unchuched kids, and offer them their hip-hop, bee-bop, gospel rap and rock. You cannot sanctify the sound by changing the words no more than you can sanctify the devil by having him quote scripture. (Matt 4:5-6)

Steven Caldwell, a youth minister at New Way Fellowship Baptist Church in Miami FL. is careful not to allow his 80-member youth choir get too outrageous with it's dancing. He says, "you don't want a provocative type of dance or sexual gyrations. And you don't want them to get too nightclub-ish. You want them to do dancing in an environment that is holy". Listen to what a Miami Herald reporter writes: "These kids are dancing. Really dancing. Hard enough to work up a sweat. Making the kind of moves you'd find on the dance floor of the hottest South Beach nightclubs". [The Voice in the Wilderness, Oct. 1997. PO Box 210098, Dallas TX. 75211]

Is this music "to the Lord"? Does this type of music, and action brought on by the music bring glory to the Lord and declare His marvelous works among the nations? (1 Chr. 16:24) Does this type of witness exalt the Lord God among the heathen and in the earth? (Ps 46:10)

The organized churches are pushing for world peace at any cost. Countries must reconcile with countries, governments with governments, races with races, faiths with faiths. One Government, One Faith, then there will be peace, is the crusaders cry.. This will be a peace by negotiation, by cohesion, and by conquest (forced peace). There will be no "peace from the heart". The peace gained by the ecumenical movement will be short lived. It will not stand. But "Believers" will pay a price for this false peace if Jesus tarries. Only Christ can bring about a real and lasting peace, (Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3).

Protestant Leaders Blast Fundamentalists
Leaders of five Protestant denominations in Brazil blasted evangelical groups that are opposing the visit of Pope John Paul II in October (1997). A Lutheran leader, Mozart de Noronha Melo, condemned individuals who call the pope the anti-Christ, saying they are anti-Christian and anti-evangelical, according to news reports. He said he rejects in the strongest terms those who have such disrespect for the Pope. He described the individuals as "fundamentalists on the fringes of established churches. (Religion Today-10/2/97)

(Editor) There is much truth in that last statement, "fundamentalists on the fringes of established churches". The "established churches" are going to the dogs, demons rather. Many "fundamentalists" are on the fringes of established churches and some have gotten out entirely.

I speak this way because the established churches are established by man, not Christ. They preach a social gospel of works which has not the power of God to bring man to salvation. Their priority is saving the environment and enriching this present life for their converts.

Praise God that even the enemies of God can see the "Bible Believers" on the "fringes" of these churches. God is leading the fundamentalists "out of her".

As the established churches unite and reconcile the world to her there will only be "one common enemy", the "fundamentalists". Some synonyms for fundamentalist are: immovability, bitter-ender, conservative, die hard and old liner.

There are still churches that fit these synonyms. If you're not IN ONE-FIND ONE.

Vice President Al Gore Praises Homosexuality.
Vice President Al Gore, speaking to the Hollywood Radio and Television Society praised the television show Ellen, saying, "When the character Ellen came out, millions of Americans were forced to look at sexual orientation in a more open light".

Joan Garry of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation said, "Al Gore is a real friend to the gay and lesbian community -- and he's absolutely right".

Homosexual Howard Bragman, a Hollywood publicist, said Gore's comments are a step toward a presidential run in the year 2000. He said, "It's a strategic message to the entertainment and gay community, setting the stage for the same successful gay fund-raising that Bill Clinton did"

In his speech Gore also asked Hollywood not to glamorize drugs, tobacco, and violence. He said "All I ask is show our young people a full and accurate picture of what these killers do to people's lives". (Condensed and excerpted from Catholic World News-10/17/97)

[Editor] Gore condones, ever praises homosexuality as if that abominable lifestyle wasn't a killer in itself. A homosexual lifestyle kills a person twice. It kills the physical body, and then the spiritual body must suffer the second death.(Rev 21:8)

Politically Correct Teachers
Catholic religious education officials in Ireland have sent a standard to catechists that they should no longer refer to Mummy and Daddy in classrooms because of the growing number of one-parent families, the Irish Independent newspaper reported recently.

The suggestion was part of a new Irish religious education program for four- to five-year-olds instituted recently. "Whereas in the past a family had a Mummy and a Daddy, now we don't say those kind of things", the paper quoted one of the organizers of the program as saying

Religion teachers were urged to use such phrases such as "the adults who live in your house or the people who look after you". (Condensed and adapted from a Catholic World News article of 10/17/97)

[Editor} What next? Live in partner and roommate to replace reference to wife and husband? Is marriage of a man and woman to be replaced by a couple making a commitment to each other?. Stupid question, that last one. That has been going on for some time now, but soon it will be the norm.

Are you tired of hearing about this politically correct society and these politically correct churches? I know I'm getting tired of reporting it. Maybe Jesus will come soon.

UMR suggests John 10:10 Refers To Worldly Life
An Editorial by the United Methodist Reporter on 9/25/97 titled "Anti-personnel land mines subvert Jesus' promise of life", shows the spiritual blindness of many professing Christians.

The UMR editorial speaking on land mines says: "Land mines have one purpose -- to kill or maim. Their use is immoral. That's why the United States' recent refusal to join some 100 other countries in signing a treaty to ban land mines disappoints us."

Continuing further it says: "Any device designed to maim civilians and traumatize their society slaps the face of Christians who believe in the sacred worth of all human beings, enemy or not. These 'anti-personnel devices' are miniature bombs designed to blow off arms and legs. Their purpose is diametrically opposed to the words of Jesus, 'I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly' (John 10:10)."

I have been saying that these "organized churches," with their environmental and social gospel seek after an abundant "worldly life" I believe the stated reference to John 10:10 in respect to land mines proves my point.

Churches to Plan Programs to Cater to Non-Believers?
(Condensed and adapted from the Associated Baptist Press-10/21/97)

Reggie McNeal is a church-growth consultant with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. When speaking for a session on numerical growth during an Oct. 10-11 "church-health summit" sponsored by the Kentucky Baptist Convention, he said: "Making churches culturally relevant in order to reach people does not require watering down the gospel."

The irony, he said, is "we have many churches that are more worldly than the culture." Sounds real good, but he goes on to say:

"In reality, churches that shun making themselves culturally relevant are 'self-centered,' he explained. "I don't know anything more greedy than Christians who are sitting in a church saying, 'Feed me! Feed me! Feed me!' when there are thousands of hungry people outside."

I ask-isn't that one reason Christians go to church? To be fed on the Spiritual Word.

"Churches that want to reach people with the gospel will understand the modern culture and seek to relate to people in that culture", McNeal said. He cited several examples of issues churches must understand, beginning with convenience.

"Convenience is a driving force" in modern society, he said. "Churches that want to connect better pay attention to that."

McNeal recalled a member of a church which he previously served as pastor telling him, "I'm not so sure it ought to be convenient to come to church."

McNeal's response: "Where does it say in the word of God to make it difficult for people to come to God?"

Where does it say in the Word of God that people come to God by going to church? These folks have it all wrong. People do not come to God by going to church. That's why the majority of people in the majority of churches are un-believers.

McNeal goes on to say that "people who visit their churches make quick decisions about whether they will return or not... about 10 minutes after hitting the parking lot" So-what does he cite as initial indicators of making a good impression? He cites issues such as parking, directional signs and appearance of the facilities as initial indicators.

McNeal admonished churches to plan their programs and activities with unchurched people in mind. "Here we are with the stewardship of the eternal gospel, and we've got to start planning with someone besides us in mind.."

I say one more time. Church is for believers. Church is to teach believers God's Word. It is to worship and praise the Lord and fellowship with "other Christians".

We are to go out and save people and "then" teach them, but the church wants to "church them" and then try and save them. They have it backwards. Unsaved people cannot be taught spiritual things.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (KJV)

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (KJV)

People cannot understand the teachings of the true church until they are of the true church.

Church of England's Bishops Want To Bless Sin
Catholic World News reports on an article published in the "Sunday Times" a London newspaper, that a majority of the Church of England's bishops want the church to declare cohabitation by unmarried couples morally permissible.

According to the report, a majority of the 44 diocesan bishops no longer believe the couples are necessarily committing a sin and want to allow priests to bless their relationships. The report also says they believe the quality of the relationship is more important than its legal status

Bishop John Oliver of Hereford, was quoted as saying, "We should not condemn those who cohabit. Christian people should recognize the realities of social change". He added that couples should be encouraged to consider marriage, but if they refuse, the church should not reject them. The issue is expected to be raised at a meeting of the House of Bishops this month.

[Editor] Question. If the church is allowed "by sinful man," to bless sin, whose church do you think this is?

The Value of a Smile
It costs nothing but creates much. It enriches those who receive without making those who give poor. It happens in a flash and the memory sometimes lasts forever. None are so rich they can get along without it and none so poor but are much richer for a smile. It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business and is the counter sign of friendship. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away. And if it ever happens that someone is too tired to give you a smile, why not give them yours? For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give. Trust Christ and He will put a smile on your face and peace in your heart. (From a tract by First Baptist Church of Accokeek, MD)

On The Lighter Side

A country preacher decided to skip services one Sunday and head to the hills to do some bear hunting. As he rounded the corner on a perilous twist in the trail, he and a bear collided, sending him and his rifle tumbling down the mountainside. The preacher, losing his rifle and breaking both legs in the fall, was horrified to see the ferocious bear charging at him from a distance.

"Oh, Lord," the preacher prayed, "I'm so sorry for skipping services today to come out here and hunt. Please forgive me and grant me just one wish. Please make a Christian out of that charging bear"

That very instant the bear skidded to a halt, fell to it's knees, clasped it's hands together and began to pray aloud right at the preachers feet. "Dear God, bless this food I am about to eat".

(John 3:16)

It's been a good month in the Lord's work. I have received many letters of encouragement and others telling of the blessings the Newsletter and News Service have been to them in aiding in discernment. The Lord is good

I have read the book, "The Bible Code" by Michael Drosnin, a rank un-believer. If the Lord be willing, I will write a critique of this book in the Dec. newsletter.

The mass mailing I sent to the churches listed in the Baptist Bible Fellowship International was a success I think Some of you will remember that I wrote offering a free information packet to all 2600 hundred or so churches listed, and I have received a response from 134 requesting the information. All the info kits were mailed within a day or two of the request.

The Newsletter & E-Mail News Service continues to grow as do the number of hits to the Web Site. I know numbers do not prove "sound teaching" in the faith once delivered to the saints, (Jude 1:3) but I do not preach another doctrine. I warn of the false doctrine others preach in the Name of Christ, and the present day apostasy of the churches.

Having trouble finding a sound church locally? How far is too far to travel to attach yourself to a Sound--Bible Believing--Bible Preaching--Bible Practicing Church? This present apostasy of the churches is great, but there are still sound churches out there. If you really desire to be in one, I believe God will help you find one.
